Hi, I am Destra Capers, director of Outreach at South Carolina Student Loan. Let's talk about scholarships. You know, you best. So think about what major, what career you want to have.
Think about your extracurricular activities. Are you an athlete? What are your grades looking like? Do you have any hobbies? All of those things can lead to scholarships. And guess what? Even if you've had some hardships along the way, maybe you have a diagnosed disability, that too can lead to money. So when you are looking at scholarships, think about you.Think about your extracurricular activities. Are you an athlete? What are your grades looking like? Do you have any hobbies? All of those things can lead to scholarships.
One of the ways that we help with that is we have a scholarship search on our website. Not only for our institutions in South Carolina, but also community-based scholarships that are available there.
We've paid for those searches, so you don't have to.
If you attend a summer camp and they have a really big project at the end and they say, you'll win a $500 scholarship, guess what? You can be an elementary, middle, or high school and still have access to that scholarship. So scholarships come from a lot of different places, and you can start searching as early as college is on your mind.
