Designated by the State of South Carolina, South Carolina Student Loan (SCSL) is the only statewide non-profit education lender. We are dedicated to making higher education possible. Every loan we have made since our inception in 1973 has been made for one purpose -- to assist people like you in achieving the dream of a college education.

We offer several federal loan programs, including Stafford Loans for students, Parent PLUS Loans, Graduate/Professional PLUS Loans (Grad PLUS) for graduate and professional students, and Consolidation Loans to combine all of your federal loans into one loan. We also are the only source for loans under the SC Teachers Loan Program.
We also offer private loans for students or parents who need additional loan funds. These loans include the Palmetto Assistance Loan (PAL), PAL Residency Interview & Relocation (R & R), PAL Law PREP (Practice Review & Exam Preparation), and PAL Consolidation.
